The name itself says that it is used to manage your disks. In simple words, It is used to make changes in the hardware. Disk management allows you to perform actions like Create, Delete, Shrink, Format, and many more operations on your selected disk.

How to open Disk Management in Windows?

There are many methods for opening Disk Management in Windows operating system. In this article, we are going to discuss three(3) easy methods for opening it.

  1. Using the Run operation.
  2. Opening from the control panel.
  3. By using Command Prompt.

Using the Run operation:-> Click start + R on your laptop/pc or Search for Run by opening a search bar and open it.

-> Now, Type diskmgmt.msc and hit enter.

Disk management will be opened.

  1. Opening from the control panel.

-> Open control panel.

-> In the search bar, Search for Administrative tools and open it from the search results.

-> After opening, Double click on Computer Management.

-> After that, Navigate to Disk Management under storage.

Disk management will be opened.

  1. By using Command Prompt.

-> Open Command Prompt.

-> Now, Type diskmgmt.msc and hit enter.

Disk management will be opened.
