Recently, the BBK-Owned Oppo has pushed a new update for Oppo Reno 4 Pro with August 2020 Security Patch. Now, the July 2020 Security Patch is now rolling out for Oppo R17 smartphones. The update is hitting all the devices on CPH1879EX_11_F.07/CPH1879_11_F.07  and currently, the update is limited to Indian users only.

Moving into the Changelog, the update features the July Security Patch, improvements, and new add-ons. The new add-ons include Camera quick-launch function, wireless printing feature, and Personalisations option in Settings. Apart from these, if the company adds any new features then you will be experiencing them after the update. The Changelog of the update is dropped below.

Update Changelog:

  • Added the July 2020 Android security patch to enhance system security.
  • Added the wireless printing feature: images and PDF files can be printed wirelessly. (To use this feature, go to “Settings – Other wireless connections – Print”.)
  • You can now sync the volume level set on your Bluetooth device to your phone. (To use this feature, go to “Settings – Bluetooth”, tap the icon in the upper-right corner, then tap “Advanced settings” and turn on “Media volume sync”.
  • Added the “Personalisations” option in “Settings”.
  • Improved system stability.
  • Added the Camera quick-launch function: Double-pressing the “Volume +” or “Volume -” buttons quickly launches the camera when the screen is off. (Tap the icon in the upper-right corner of the camera screen, enter “Settings” and then turn on this function.)

The company is spinning out the update in phases, so, it might take a few days to hit your device. Meanwhile, follow the below steps to check the update status manually.

Oppo R17 Specifications

Oppo R17 was launched back in 2018 with a 6.4-inch display, 403 PPI density, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The device is powered by an Octa-core processor based Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 (10 nm) and Adreno 615 GPU. It is available in 6/8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.
